Obama supporters for sure helping him going after the evangelical vote, dissing Hillary supporters at the same time (and bringing back the hoary old hanger. Maybe you should worry about this.):
So to all you so-called angry fauxminists who are too blind to have seen how horrendously mismanaged was Senator Clinton's presidential campaign, shut the fuck up. If you can't even give the woman the dignity of having been the commander in chief of her own campaign, if you are so stupid you don't understand the actual management and political dynamics that led to her failed bid, then look at that hanger as the symbol of your lost reproductive rights and therefore EQUALITY under the law.How base and disgusting is this?
The more nuanced Obama supporters are sure he's 100% pro-choice. Planned Parenthood says so so it must be true.
If I were an Obama voter I would wonder if he can be trusted on any issue. It's true his voting record is very liberal, but then he has so little legislative experience, and none governing, they should worry he will cave easily, or be indecisive.
And why don't feminists worry about someone else...for a change.
UPDATE: Newsweek--dead heat in polls, "Is the Obama Glow Fading". Of course, they could be just correcting their earlier outlier poll. RCP average here. It's not just the position flips, it's the image:
More seriously, some Obama supporters worry that the spectacle of their candidate eagerly embracing his old rival, Hillary Clinton, and traveling the country courting big donors at lavish fund-raisers, may have done lasting damage to his image as an arbiter of a new kind of politics. This is a major concern since Obama's outsider credentials, have, in the past, played a large part in his appeal to moderate, swing voters. In the new poll, McCain leads Obama among independents 41 percent to 34 percent, with 25 percent favoring neither candidate. In June's NEWSWEEK Poll, Obama bested McCain among independent voters, 48 percent to 36 percent. And he may be losing pro-abort women, not just disaffected Hillary supporters.Of course Newsweek thinks lots of voters are stupid, but perhaps they are the ones asking stupid questions. And liberal Michael Kinsley reports the number of disaffected Hillary voters are significant--almost half of them say they won't vote for Obama. He doesn't understand why they are so angy. But anger is the Democrat medium and fanning it their playbook. Identity politics is all they have, and it still splits their base, perhaps irreparably.
