Tom Friedman was asked what significant accomplishments Obama has produced in his whirlwind, if-this-is-Tuesday-this-must-be-Belgium tour of the Middle East and Europe.
He paused briefly and then answered that Obama hadn't made any gaffes, which means he didn't throw up in anybody's lap.
I'm old enough to recall the way the media treated Dan Qualye, who was a demonstrably more qualified candidate in every way than Obama is, and said far fewer stupid things. Yet Quayle was openly mocked as a kind of mentally-retarded pretty boy and people largely agreed with the assessment--Qualye was in fact, too young and green to be one step away from the presidency.
The arrogance of foisting someone far less qualified than Dan Quayle purely on the basis that he's a black man would defy believe if it wasn't actually happening.
Almost everyday I find myself incredulous at his vapid statements. Of course what's really remarkable isn't Obama himself, but the moronic media elite who should be euthanized as genetic failures for whom continued life would be cruel.
I find myself losing respect for the American people and democracy itself...
