No one likes to be confronted with their immorality.
The important thing is to name the evil and I think you did admirably.
Its notable that some of the responses try to name your evil as denying them their choices. Clearly the limit of our choices exists where they conflict with the choices of others. The choice of infanticide requires that one dehumanize the victim, hence the child is simply a "lump of flesh".
Ironically, dehumanization is a necessary and practical step to make war. My father-in-law relates the films depicting alleged Japanese atrocities--a means to dehumanize the Japanese soldier, and make them easier to kill.
The life within as enemy.

Seconded. From Troilus and Cressida :
Then every thing includes itself in power,
Power into will, will into appetite;
And appetite, a universal wolf,
So doubly seconded with will and power,
Must make perforce a universal prey,
And last eat up himself.

Thank you both. I really appreciate your heartfelt and thoughtful support.
I knew it would spark feminist outrage--but just reading their stuff for a few days impelled me to write about it.
