Rally in Germany. Adoring crowds. A dear leader. But this one's an American. (And the crowds aren't just the MSM.) Via Patrick Ruffini:
“It is not going to be a political speech,” said a senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. “When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally.Doesn't this creep you out?“But he is not president of the United States,” a reporter reminded the adviser.
I share Mick's astonishment. Amazingly at least one reporter remembered a basic fact, that the guy isn't president yet.
P.S. Obama ignores General Petraeus' advice (the successful architect of the surge, which Obama still opposes), then glides on to another pressing issue. WaPo:
Looking ahead to meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders Wednesday, the senator from Illinois pledged that, if elected president, he would provide "sustained energy and focus" to help forge a peace agreement ending their conflict. But he noted that "it's unrealistic to expect that a U.S. president alone can suddenly snap his fingers about bringing about peace in this region."That's not how you're going to do it? What's the secret plan, Barack? Swiveling your skinny hips?
