Barack's Axis of Evil

Christopher Hitchens is on to something. Way back I thought Barack Obama chose the Rev. Wright's church in Chicago because of political expediency, to smooth his way in the black community, since he came from Hawaii via Columbia U. But over time it seemed to me that he may have chosen that church for its message and its pastor. An angry message, an angry pastor, an angry wife. An angry Barack Obama.

Now Hitchens moves us further along the path of why, and for so long. Hitchens recalls a film from 1995, with a secretly filmed segment of Farrakhan in 1993, Brother Minister. The documentary was about the murder of Malcolm X. Christopher Hitchens:

I invite you to look at the film of Farrakhan's sweating, yelling, paranoid face and to bear in mind that this depraved thug, who boasts of "dealing with" one of black America's moral heroes, is the man praised by Jeremiah Wright and referred to with respect as "Minister Farrakhan" by the senator who hopes to be the next president of the United States.
But I would go further than Hitchens. I do think Obama

agrees with the Reverend Wright, not just Michelle. After all, he married Michelle and she him. Their first date was some community organizing meeting. They knew each other's politics.

Now for the first time, we clearly see the nexus in Barack Obama's life between his bomber buddy Bill Ayers, who stomped on his country's flag a month before Sept. 11th, and the murderous message of the Rev. Wright's church, with Rashid Khalidi in the wings. He's not a victim, he's an agent of intolerance.

It's the Barack Obama axis of evil.

UPDATE: Mick has more insight here.

More, via HotAir, the Rev. Wright makes sense to Rosie. McCain should renounce Hagee's endorsement. But in defense of McCain, he has never claimed anyone as his spiritual mentor of 20 years. And Hagee sounds chastened and apologetic.

UPDATE: Gateway Pundit on the continuing hate at Obama's church--the one he says he's still committed to.
