Why can't Barack Obama close the deal with voters? Early on he did well with caucus voters, but as he becomes better known, to know him is not necessarily to love him.Michelle Malkin. Typical Liberal Arugalance. (In case you missed it, John Fund.) Obama: The Snobwear Collection, check for new merchandise. Not available at Whole Foods. Another Obama gaffe chronicled by The Philadelphia Bulletin, Philadelphia's Family Newspaper:
Completely ignoring his Democratic rival, Barack Obama blasted John McCain over his philosophy of a small, limited government at The Associated Press' annual convention in Washington, D.C. Mr. Obama argued such a policy ignores the plight of working Americans."This philosophy isn't just out of touch," Mr. Obama said, "it put our economy out of whack." Mr. Obama further chastised Mr. McCain for his support of President George W. Bush's tax cuts, arguing a McCain victory would be a "third term" for Mr. Bush.
In responding to the attack, senior McCain advisor Mark Salter stated, "It's hard to keep a straight face when
you're accused of being out of touch by a guy who thinks the whole country is worried about the high price of arugula or that you hunt ducks with a six-shooter."
While campaigning in Iowa, Mr. Obama complained of the high price of "arugula," instead of regular lettuce, at Whole Foods and charged Hillary Clinton with acting "like she's on the duck blind every Sunday; she's packin' a six-shooter." Traditionally, sportsmen do not hunt ducks with handguns. NY Times: Democrats are anxious. And Obama is "amused". That word is often paired with condescension Barack, not the right tack to take--a little humility would go a long way, but we won't wait for that. Maureen Dowd, praise the Lord and the lettuce, is not bitter. And Barack might as well be from Borneo, observing the customs of us locals. I haven't worn a T-shirt with a logo for some time, but I may just have to get me one. Game over?
