Another Obama waffle. Are we talking about his flip on public financing? His waffle on gun control? Are we talking about his forking a piece of waffle in his mouth to avoid a tricky question? (Are we talking about his spiritual mentor, the Rev. Wright's waffle? "Men are waffles..." Gratuitous music video below.)
Obama is waffling on a gas tax holiday, again. In the Illinois legislature, Obama voted in favor of a gas tax holiday, then against it. Now he
again says no, and attacks John McCain. But back then in Illinois, Barack Obama was worried about the impact of high gas prices on consumers. WSJ:
"I originally voted for the suspension because I thought that it was extraordinary circumstances, given the huge hike in prices," he said at the time. Gas prices averaged $1.52 a gallon in March 2000.Average gas prices at the pump today are around $3.50 a gallon, and $3.69 in Chicago, in some spots $3.75 a gallon. Who's really out of touch?
Even with Obama's short legislative record he can't stick to a consistent position. It's the Obama waffle, extra syrupy. And what does this say about his so-called great judgment, hmm? There 's the issue of his inner waffle.
But maybe Obama will try the Jedi Master Mind Trick again--"You like waffles..."
