Maybe We Should try this with Spouses

Noted military historian and strategist - now Democrat Presidential candidate , Mike Gravel, on the key to an effective fighting force. Something I missed during my military years.

Maybe there's something in it. 'I'm a shirt-lifter so I'll fight to the death alongside 99 other shirt-lifters whereas I wouldn't fight for those straight guys who love their country and their breeder buddies.' Give it a whirl. Form a segregated battle group...The Gay Hussars.

Mick Stockinger:

What an idiot.

What the Spartans engaged in wasn't homosexuality by pedophila--young men were pair ed with veterans to learn the ropes and serve as sexual receptacles--it was more like prison sex than the image modern homosexuals want to portray of loving couples (which is comparatively rare anyways...)

Secondly, every man was expected to get married and have hetersexual sex to make more Hoplites. Do modern homosexuals believe that we should enforce hetersexual behavior for gays?

I didn't think so.

Furthermore, if you're going to emulate the Spartans, then I guess were going back to slavery too.

If you want to emulate the Spartans, consider that it was a society always on the brink of disaster, with too few Spartiates trying to dominate too many helots. Essentially, a single defeat at the battle of Leuctra destroyed the fragile balance and relegated the Spartans to a Roman tourist attraction.

I doubt we're going to have much of a volunteer army if recruits are forced to bend over for homosexual veterans.
