Michael Yon posted his latest dispatch from Iraq. He plans to spend the “entirety of 2007 in the war”. One passage that caught my eye:
During the brief three days in Ramadi and Fallujah, we lost at least four service members KIA during combat. Others were wounded. One soldier in Ramadi got shot through the shoulder and it came out his back but he was fine after some patching up. Another was shot in the head and killed.
Note the “we”; American reporters during WWII also acknowledged being American. It doesn’t happen with the legacy media anymore; ironic considering they owe the military for protecting their ability to report unhindered. Michael Yon is no shill for the military; he actually used the term "civil war" before NBC news did. Since he relies solely on reader donations (no advertisements) he is even more independent then the traditional media.
