The Senate is current debating a constitution amendment forbidding flag-burning.
Why?
Is this a big problem in the country?
I just don't think we can compell reverence, nor should we.

Red meat for the loyal base. Just like the non existant gay marriage crisis. Nothing more, nothing less.
Of course it's not a problem. Bennett is on the right track with this one.

Its a little more than the "loyal base" Greg. Polls show that 73% of the public supports a flag burning amendment. Its notable that this thing keeps coming up and they get closer and closer to passing it. Its generally conceded that it if passes the Senate, the states will be no problem.
As for non-existent gay marriage crisis--its only non-existent if you're a supporter (which you are).
